REGISTER FOR SWAZI ‘10

April 16th, 2010

In December 2008, 350 volunteers joined in on the first Swazi 1000 mission to Bulembu. Besides painting 12 community buildings, renovating two orphan homes, erecting a 1.6km dairy fence and painting 420 houses, these young people were challenged to live in radical devotion to God when they returned to their own communities. In 2009, 220 volunteers packed their tents and work gloves once again to set up camp in Bulembu from 28 November to 11 December.

Now we are heading back again and invite you to join us a for a life-changing experience… It’s time!

Waiting, Preparing, Praying

November 27th, 2009

It’s time! Tomorrow all of the participants arrive after departing from Pretoria at 3am.

The leaders spent the past couple of days preparing for a big event! All is going to plan, all the leaders are excited for the arrival of the group tomorrow.

The past couple of days were spent vision casting, getting spiritually prepared and some project training. The excitement is building and while the rain is falling we pray for the safe trip of the group, the projects waiting to be tackled and all round good things waiting to happen.

We trust and pray that God will help and provide while we busy ourselves under His guidance.

The time is near!

November 4th, 2009

To all those coming with , following our doings and those who stumbled on the page: WELCOME

Just a quick update.. We are leaving in 24 days. That’s three and a bit weeks. While the difficulties of an event of this magnitude still keeping the people behind the scenes busy we trust the God will guide them in these last few days.

Today, that is Wednesday, you can pick up your free Swazi1000 t-shirt at Erika any time between 2 and 5!

To those who are still wondering if they should go to Swazi, don’t! Just go!

“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

-James 2:15-17

Where we stand

October 19th, 2009

The time is nearing for Swazi 1000. As I am writing this there is only 41 days left, it is just around the corner. We are at the stage where critical things need to come together. The people behind the scenes are working hard get everything to fall into place. We trust God will guide the leaders and coordinators in this challenge!

You might be asking how and what you can do to help? There is actually two things:

  • Recruit! Make people aware of this fantastic gathering of young Christians where we can grow and give to a community! There is only a short time left to register and pay!
  • Pray! As mentioned we are now at the stage where things really need to fall into place. We have a couple of things that was identified as important prayer points specific to this stage of the planning:
    • Spiritual Readiness
    • Logistics & Planning
    • Equipment we need
    • Leaders meeting 25-27 November for preparation
    • Gathering of all participants 20 November

Have a wonderful, blessed, inspired week. Make a mark!

“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
